The Blessing of Fresh Water
This story is from Jorge and Lorgia in Mateare and told through their own words. The only editing we did was translating it from Spanish to English.

We used to depend on the army to bring us some water. It was sometimes sold to us or given as a gift, depending the humor of the soldier. It was always delivered randomly and we didn't know when and how this water would come to the community. We had to sustain certain kinds of humiliation and power abuse, moral, spiritual and even physical abuse. Nowadays, Project H.O.P.E. has come such as angels sent by heaven. They brought us dignity, food and water. But not only the water well, but the water of life! The water came to us with the hope of life, a life we may live hand and hand with our Lord. We have now the chance to grow our own food. We are now starting a training program in order to harvest our own vegetables, our own food. This is a miracle from God! Due this benefit, our children may go to school clean and with dignity. The wells have helped to avoid certain kinds of illness due the reduction of drinking or using polluted water. The well maintenance has being fundamental from Project H.O.P.E., because we have learned to use them adequately. Now, we are conscious there is no life, without water. God Bless you!
