Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and HOPE Central Haiti is located in the city of Pignon. Our base serves as an office for our full-time national staff and housing for mission teams. Pignon is located in the middle of the country and has roughly 30,000 people. Pignon is a farming community and is one of the country’s top suppliers for sugarcane and rum. There are many vast plantations of sugarcane located throughout the area.
